user defined shared folders vanish after restart

Post by JGrob »

Dear Madams and Sirs,

there is a problem with shared folders for UPnP-AV Server. After restart of TS-109 no shared folders are recognised by TwonkyMedia except systems generated like "Qmultimedia".

Step by step example:
- Create a new shared folder like "myMedia".
- Add "myMedia" to the TwonkyMedia Sharing folders using the "Browse" button.
- Save settings.
- Now restart TS-109 and have a look at TwonkyMedia Sharing configuration. Use the Browse button and you will see "myMedia" folder is vanished, all additional shared folders are vanished except system generated like "Qmultimedia".

I've telneted the TS-109 and found, that the symbolic links to user defined shares in /share folder are gone after restart. The canonical paths in /share/HDA_DATA remain.

To work around this issue you can use the canonical path /HDA_DATA/myMedia instead of the symbolic link /myMedia in TwonkyMedia Sharing configuration.

Yours faithfully,
Jochen Grob

Hi JGrob,

We were wondering if you have solved this issue with the new firmware updates? Sorry for the later reply.

Hi Andy!

I do have the exact same problems like JGrob - after using his advice with "/HDA_DATA/" as a prefix - it is working.

I have installed the TS-109 yesterday and could not view the files in my "video"-Folder. After copying those files to the "qmultimedia"-folder I could stream them to my ps3. One strange thing ... after one hour or so - or maybe after a reboot - I could see and select my folders in the twonky-settings-page under "sharing". Today these folders "vanished" like JGrob wrote.

Strange thing!

Kim
