Which one should I choose for RAID1? TS-101 or TS-109?

Post by icq9500088 »

I had a TS-101 with 250GB harddisk. I want to setup RAID1 server and thus I am going to buy another TS-101 or TS-109 appliance.

However, I wonder if TS-109 is my best choice.....

The unique feature in TS-109 is useless for me. eg AD service, mySQL, higher data rate. Of course, it is nice to have these additional feature if the price is nearly the same. But I doubt!

Any advise? TS-101 connect to TS-100 or TS-101 or TS-109 or TS-109Pro.

P.S. I have a very bad experience to setup RAID1 with 3rd party eSATA NAS.

I prefer the most stable setup. eg. by eSATA connection.

Hi icq9500088,

In order to make your existing TS-101 a RAID 1 server all you need to do is to hook it up with an USB external hard drive box and of course an additional hard disk with the same volume as the one you had eg. 250g and configure the RAID function through the admin page under Device Configuration -> eSATA Disk. The detailed steps can be found at section 3.5.4 on page 75 of the user menu.
