Most preferably in the download section a option "decompress after finished download"

I've found unrar here, http://www.rarlab.com/rar/unrar-arm.tar.bz2, and unzipped it and put the unrar executable in /usr/bin/ Works really well.

It's working now!
But the only problem I have now is that the files does'nt show in Windows XP if I don't set XP to view OSfiles and hidden files. How can this be?
I answer my own question...
I logged in to my NAS with Putty and typed chmod 775 file-name and the file showed up in Wndows.

Downloaded the unrar bin.
Log in to the NAS with WinSCP and uploaded the file. Remember to put it in /usr/bin folder.
When you have downloaded something in rar, you log in to the NAS with Putty unrar it.
Go to to folder that the rar file/files is and type 'unrar e rar-file-name'. Unrar has a help where you can se all the flags to set, if you want.
I'm not on the computer that has WinSCP and Putty, but I can explain better soon if you cant get it to work.

I executed in Putty on the command line:
chmod 775 file-name
and the file showed up!
Don't if that helps you....

I extracted the file on my computer and then transfered it to the Public folder. Then log on with ssh/putty, go to Public folder and type "mv unrar /usr/bin"Kmeister wrote:I've placed the unrar file in usr/bin/ but when I try to extract a rar-file I get an error message:

I was looking for a way to unrar on the QNAP thinking it would go faster than just winrar it in Qdownload from my pc. But it only takes 25 min using winrar on a 4.4 Gb file so I think I'll keep doing that. (wasting bandwith for sure).fonzy35 wrote:it work with putty. i did a unrar a file of 52 piece rar
total after unrar 700.8MB movie file in 26 minute with cpu from 12% - 42% running(for the unrar prgram)...plus i had download station running with 3 torrent downloading at the same time
on the TS-109 (500Mhz processor)
