see above,
but i'm not sure, qnap's qpkg support 6.0.31.
Now, the latest is 6.0.30.
I hope support 6.0.31 soon for Qnap users

Qnap's latest Twonky version is still 6.0.30 right? I still have no subtitles on my Samsung TV. When is 6.0.31 or 6.0.32 QPKG coming?

Never, as due to bugs they don't work on an arm based system. They are now working on 6.0.33

Ah oké. That's even better right? Can we expect this in the coming weeks or months?

You can now get 6.0.33 from the QPKG but subtitles still don't work... what's the go?
Has anyone successfully enabled subtitles on their Samsung TV yet with Twonky?

Re: Twonky 6.0.30 Subtitles not working on Samsung TV's
i read from some people that their subtitles work now on samsung with twonky 6.0.33. but i don't know any details, never use subtitles myself.
also don't forget that the client's player (in your case the software which is running on your samsung tv) still has to support the subtitle format!
however maybe just try another upnp server, like the tvmobili qpkg: http://forum.qnap.com/viewtopic.php?f=250&t=45526

Re: Twonky 6.0.30 Subtitles not working on Samsung TV's
I have tested a WMV file, subtitles work but now there is no audio. With the previous version in had audio but no subtitles.lpy wrote:I tried 6.0.33 but still no subtitle's on my Samsung (55-UED8000) for any .MKV file.
Did some more testing:
.wmv WMA Professional audio, WVC1 1280x720 video [Audio: No | Subtitles: Yes]
This is for all my .WMV files!
.mkv AC3 audio, h264 video 720p, embedded SRT subtitle [Audio: Yes | Subtitles: No]
.mkv AC3 audio, h264 video 1080p, embedded SRT subtitle [Audio: Yes | Subtitles: No]
.mkv DTS audio, h264 video 720p, embedded SRT subtitle [Audio: Yes | Subtitles: No]
.mkv DTS audio, h264 video 1080p, embedded SRT subtitle [Audio: Yes | Subtitles: No]
.mkv DTS audio, h264 video 720p, external .SRT subtitle [Audio: Yes | Subtitles: Yes]
.mkv AC3 audio, h264 video 720p, external .SRT subtitle [Audio: Yes | Subtitles: Yes]
.mkv DTS audio, h264 video 1080p, external .SRT subtitle [Audio: Yes | Subtitles: No]
.mkv AC3 audio, h264 video 1080p, external .SRT subtitle [Audio: Yes | Subtitles: No]
80% of my video files are 1080p .MKV with embedded subtitles. Is this going to be fixed anytime? If 1080p MKV with embedded subtitles will be fixed i'll be VERY HAPPY!
I tried tvmobili, but no luck

Re: Twonky 6.0.30 Subtitles not working on Samsung TV's
I updated from 6.0.30 to 6.0.33 today (TS-239 Pro II) and now my subtitles work on my Samsung UE64D7000.
- File name of the .mkv must be the same as the .srt
- In TwonkyServer - Advanced Setup - Media Receivers select behind the IP address of your tv: Samsung TV

Re: Twonky 6.0.30 Subtitles not working on Samsung TV's
I can't get any mkv file to play via twonky 6.0.33 and my Samsung BR-Player BD-C6500 N-WLAN. I know that it works via usb and also if I stream from my windows PC with Samsung Share Manager. I changed Media Receivers to Samsung-TV but it didn't help. ah and yes subtitles don't work for any format (srt - same name) for me. any idea what I can do?

Re: Twonky 6.0.30 Subtitles not working on Samsung TV's
MKV in general play for a long time. Are you still using the legacy Twonky 5 that comes as part of the NAS firmware?stepini wrote:I can't get mkv file play form twonky server... same file works well on usb...
Already using Twonky 6.0.30? In this case, MKV playback is supported and works. For subtitles, uninstall Twonky 6.0.30 QPKG, installed 6.0.33 Twonky QPKG, ensured the TV is recognized as Samsung TV... and if thhis still does not help let us at least know what player you are using, because of our magical yey is broken.

When does support come for embedded subtitles? Because most subtitles are embedded on -not- external .srt files.
