Cannot delete files

Post by MarkRy »

I am using FlashFXP as an ftp client to move files around 109Pro. I appear to have two problems.

1) When I transfer files into say Qmultimedia (under Windows) the attributes for the file on the TS109 are rwxrwxrwx but they will not Delete in any way (Windows, FlashFXP or Web File Manager). I can see now that they were all transferred to the NAS as Hidden System Archive files. Why is that?

I think I have solved this one. When I emptied the recycle bin, I couldnt see it in FlashFXP. I had to disable it / apply/ reenable it. Then the files could be deleted as required. A bug I would think (humbly).

2) When I use FlashFXP to move the file to a USB hard drive attached to TS109, I get connection lost. When I look, usually the whole file has transfered (1GB+) but at the end FlashFXP believes the connection was lost rather than the transfer completed. The result is that the original file is still in Qmulitimedia and a copy on USB drive..

I would appreciate pointers / what I can do.

Other info: TS109Pro, 1.1.0, WindowsXP, English, 3 in computer, 1 in Ts109, Seagate Enterprise, 750Mb, Raid N/A, Download Station, DDNS, FTP, Twonky, USB Printer attached, 100Mbs

As in 2) When I try to transfer a big file (5.08 Gb) between the attached USB and Qmultimedia - at approximately 1.5gb Flash FXP reports connection lost. The transfer actually stops at about 3.2GB. After 5 minutes (300 sec) reports no transfer timeout. The connection lost happens with files over about 1gb but, depending on the size, the file may or may not have been transferred in full.

The file here is Heroes_4 (5gb) from HD Overflow on QNAP\USB disk 1 TO QNAP\Qmultimedia.

The log is here:

I would appreciate help as transferring large files directly is a real time saver when the network is not used.

Well at least FlashFXP offers support for their product. I received this response from them.

"It looks as if the NAS device or some other part of your connection path is hanging up the connection before the transfers can complete. This can happen if there is a timeout value set on the device or some other device in the connection path (router, hub, software firewall). If you can not locate the timeout setting that is causing this you can try enabling "send noop during transfer", the option is in the Site Manager's option tab for the site. By sending a noop FlashFXP reminds any devices that may be timing out the connection that it is still being used."

Unfortunately "send Noop during transfer" was already set. Not sure if there are any settings in the QNAP. I am not sure how one finds out as QNAP support seems almost non-existent.
