Tip request

Post by cfo_work »

Secruity issue is the largest conern over the world and in the internet.

1)If a TS-20x connected to internet via the broadband router,
should I forward ALL port to TS-20x(all activity can be done over internet).

2)what is the secruit mesasure to the router setting?

3)Is my TS-20x is already in strong secruity mode
if I'm already set the administration passsword like this
"hQeNlAloP eTvSe2r0yX one"

4)if my TS20X must connect to internet,
what should I must DO?
what should I must NOT DO?
in the configuration inTS-20x :o

1. This is depended on which service you want to use on TS-20x
For example, if you would like to use web service, then you have to forward port 80.

2. Not very understand your question, can you explain more detail?

3. The password length of most NAS only support 8 character, however, we can support 16 character.
The security is stronger enough.

4. I strongly recommanded make NAS behind router firewall.
Because your data is very important.
Also be sure you have changed the password of admin.
I am Kent. Nice to meet you!

More clarity in questions 1) & 2) :
If a TS-20x connected to internet via the broadband router,
should I forward ALL port to TS-20x(all activity can be done over internet).
(Enable all service)
i.e. the router should forward all port or necessary port to TS?
what is the "necessary port" if enable all service.
I do thank QNAP can create a table for our ref.

That tip is for the ts-101, does that hold for the ts-209 as well? It seems like the ports are different than stated in the manual, for Bitorrent for example.

Im not sure,

But some are universal standards like FTP, WWW and so on. But i think u can find everyone in setup, and change them if u have another device using the same port.
