Hi,
I have the following set up:
1)TS-209 Pro with 2x1 TB Hitachi Descstar HDD
2) The TS-209 is connected to D-Link router DIR-635
Now, here is the strange thing:
When I run the QNap finder program it says that it can not find the TS and thus I can not continue with the installation.
But, in the administrative console of the DIR-635 I can see that has TS-209 is present and even has been assigned an IP address.
I am also able to ping the IP address with no packet loss.
On top of that I am also able to browse to that IP address with IE, where a page is displayed that says something like "The device is not initialized. Please, run the set up program". So that would mean that there is nothing wrong with my router, firewall and antivirus configuration.
Is this a known problem? Any ideas? Hardware problem?
BR

Hi again,
The version of QNap Finder is 3.1.2.721, which seems to be the latest version.
I can see that I have 2 files on my CD TS-209-1.1.0.img and
TS-209_20070727-1.1.0-RC5.img.
After checking on you web site I can see that these are not the latest version.
I saw that an image file version 1.1.1 Build 0831 is anounced on you web site but right now is under maintainance and not available for download.
Is there a way to initialize the TS-209 Pro only through a web browser (without involving the finder)?

Re: TS-209 Pro can not be found by QNap finder
Daiv - I wonder of you can let me know how you configured Sygate to allow this to work. I am just setting my 209-Pro up and I allowed it to access the internet on Sygate when prompted, but Sygate is still blocking the discovery process. If I change Sygate to 'Allow all' the discovery finds it fine.

Re: TS-209 Pro can not be found by QNap finder
I managed to figure this out - just set up an advanced rule in Sygate that allowed everything for the mac address of my QNAP unit. Seems to work ok now with the Sygate firewall set to normal.
