I'm thinking of buying two TS-109 and would like to put a large hard disk in both. I would like to buy the following 1TB disk as its seems very good value for money (WD Caviar® GP). http://www.westerndigital.com/en/produc ... riveID=336
I checked the harddisk capatability list on the web site and it does not mention this disk but the list had not been updated for 3 months.
Can anyone confirm if this disk works in the TS-109.
Thanks
1TB Hard disk compaitabilty

We are trying to arrange the testing.
But before that, any shared experience is welcome and much appreciated.

We are going to update the HDD compatibility table soon.
Currently we have tested Hitachi, Segate, and WD 1TB and works fine.
PS: Sorry, detail model name is not on my hand now.
For the WD HDD, currently there is known issue of taking longer time to enter hibernation.
Cheers,

Currently we have performance issue with 2 Seagate 7200.11 1T HD (ST31000340AS) RAID1 in TS209Pro. It's much slower than our old Linux file server (we bought TS209Pro to replace Linux file server).
It seems fine to copy just 1 big file (about 6MB/s). But it's just painful slow when copying lots of small files. For around 50MB 1000 files, it takes 35 seconds but on Linux file server, it only takes 15 seconds Even to get properties information for the folder in Windows Explorer, it takes more than double the time to get folder size and file count
Where is exactly the problem coming from, HD, Network, NAS or compatibility between HD & NAS?
