I have two TS units:
A TS-201
A TS-209 Pro
On the TS-201, the hard drive lights work properly. They are not lit unless there is drive access.
On the TS-209 Pro, the lights are lit all the time and do almost nothing during drive access.
If I remember correctly, this was an issue with the TS-201 as well until there was a firmware update to fix it.
Is this going to be fixed on the TS-209 Pro?
These units should use the same mode of operation, and the TS-201 has it right. The HD lights should NOT be on unless they are flashing due to drive access.
Thanks

Hi TechLarry,
Looks like a reverse signal being to the light.
did re-flashing firmware help at all?

We have different definition on x01 and x09 series:
TS-201's HDD Lights: They are not lit unless there is drive access.
TS-209's HDD Lights: The lights are lit all the time, and will be flashing when there is HDD read/write.
Cheers,
TS-201's HDD Lights: They are not lit unless there is drive access.
TS-209's HDD Lights: The lights are lit all the time, and will be flashing when there is HDD read/write.
Cheers,

Thanks for the answer.
Unfortunately, the new way the 209 is doing this makes NO sense whatsoever.
The 201 has it right. There should be no need for a light to be on unless it is indicating activity. On the 201, the lights are out unless the drive is being accessed. This follows proper, accepted user-interface guidlines.
The TS-209 does not.
Not only that, but when you have a rack of equipment of similar cabinets, and of different operating methods, it causes confusion.
Please change the TS-209 lights to work properly. They should only be on (blinking) when the drives are actually being accessed.
Thanks
Larry
