CMS on TS-109 Pro

Post by QRobert »

Hi QNAP-community,

equivalent to the TS-100 thread below: I want to host a small Content Management System (CMS) for private purposes on my new TS-109 Pro. In contrast to TS-100 the TS-109 Pro also has MySQL running what probably extends the range of CMS systems that can be used. I'm no expert on that topic, therefore:

- can anybody recommend a CMS that is 'ready to go' for TS-109 Pro ?
- can anybody outline the path (for beginners) how to install it on TS-109 Pro? Not every details but the core actions...right now I have no idea how to install something on TS-109 Pro...(the QNAP manual is not talkative about that...).

Many thanks

Robert

I would recommend Mambo. It takes a small amount of getting used to but is incredibly powerful. Just download (http://source.mambo-foundation.org/), unzip, copy to your web server and point your browser at it to run through the installation. There is a huge community out there that will help with any problems you may have with it - it is very well supported.

I haven't done this yet but I shall (just installed Coppermine which works very well) ... as soon as I get a few minutes free time :D

Hi all
it is nice to know that there are people want to install a CMS on the QNAP,

i want to install Joomla (CMS) with a photogallery extension/bridge (for example: coppermine or gallery2) but i am not so far to make a try on my Qnap, because i am not sure about the instalation of images tools such as Image magick or the GD library on the Qnap, what needed for the photogalleries. On my Linux/PC - there are no problems to install the extra RPM-packages, but on the QNAP?

What i did install on my Qnap is WordPress ((web)blogtool). It works very wel, no problem at all.

sorry about my English,
== TS109 Pro

Joomla on TS-209

Post by AndyChuo »

Hi Guys,

Here's my personal setups for:
Joomla +
Expose4 +
Galler2 +
Coppermine +
Virtual Mart +
JoomlaRadio +
BlastChat..

and I will install few other popular components/modules as a demo on TS-209.

Here's the URL --> h t t p : / / q n a p . k i c k s - a s s . n e t /
(no spaces in between just type it in yourself cuz phpbb censors the word 'a s s')

I will soon come up with some tutorials for the installations of the above apps. Glad to see there are a few Joomla users like me here.

By the way, this is Word Presson TS-209 if any one is interested.

Please note that for some unknown reasons.. it just doesn't show up right in IE6 or 7... still looking for the solutions..

Andy
