administration of TS109Pro

Post by kfraser »

I am accessing my TS109Pro(Version 1.1.0 build 0710T) via Firefox (2.0.0.7) from work using the 443 port.

My router is set to forward all traffic from the 443 port to my TS109Pro.

Everything goes well and after accepting the certificate
I reach my TS109Pro web site.

Thats is when the problem begins. If I click on
Adminisration (link situated at the top of the page) nothing happens apart
from displaying the word "Javascript" at the bottom left of my web browser.

The same for the buttons "WebFile Manager", "Web Server", "Multimedia Station" and "Download station".

What I can do however is add for instance /Qdownload to the end of my NAS url and all of a sudden I can reach the Download station.

So the question is why can I reach for example my Download station using the URL "http://www.myts109.com/Qdownload" but not via the buttons provided on the main page ?

Hi kfraser,

Please go to Tools> Options> Content in Firefox. Check the boxes "Enable Javascript" and "Enable Java" and click "OK". Then restart your Firefox and try to access your NAS again.

Please let us know if that works.

Thanks for the quick reply.

"Enable Javascript" and "Enable Java" have been on the whole time so that is not the solution.

More info :

When I look into the Error Console of FireFox I get the following error when pressing the Download button or the administration button :
"Error: uncaught exception: Permission denied to get property Location.hostname"

Default port settings: 20, 21, 80, 443, 478, 873, 8080, 6000, 9000, 13131 therefore you can't use port 443.

Well, it is stated quite clearly in the TS109 manual that you should use port forwarding from router port 443 to the TS109 IP if you can to use SSL secure login.

From TS109 Manual :
"TS-109 supports SSL secure login which enables you to configure and manage
the server by encrypted transfer. To use this function, check the box SSL
login on the administration page and login the server.
Note: If your TS-109 is placed behind an NAT gateway and you
want to access TS-109 by secure login from the Internet, you must
open the port 443 on your NAT and forward this port to TS-109 LAN
IP."

Hi,

Actually, we have never encountered the java script error.
May I ask you some question?
1. Can you get the exact web page when using IE browser?
2. Since you mention you opened 443 port in your router, can you pm me your IP, then I can reach it?
3. Do you install any virus-scan software in your PC?
I am Kent. Nice to meet you!

Administration is available when I reach my Qnap via IP but not using an alias then the problem must be in the way my domain is set-up via my ISP.

I will take contact with them and see if they can help.
