Writing to NAS from MandrivaLinux 2007.0 :?:

Post by JanPihlgren »

I'm just bought a NAS (QNAP, TS-101) which is formated with NTFS-filesystem.
It's working with FTP and so on.
And in Windows it will appear as a disk (Z:/)
But I whish to mount as a disk and mounting is no problem.

The problem is to write to the NAS from Linux (Mandriva 2007.0/2007.1).
The fstab data is:
//nas8ab377/Public /mnt/Public smbfs username=% 0 0
The problem is 3:
1. I cann't, as normal user, copy files to the NAS. I can copy as root.
2. I cann't use drag and drop niether as root nor as normal user.
3. I cann't change the permissions on the NAS-drive

So what to do?

Change the Subject when I discovered that the filesystem is etx3 :oops:
But how do I change the permission to write to a particular directory?
For now only the root have the rights to write. If you don't use FTP for upload.
I want to have some directories open for ordinary user to mount as a filesystem. :?:
