TS-209 Strange Warning "Re-launch process [btd]"

Post by ingo »

Hello,

I find a warning after rebooting my NAS:

Warning Re-launch process [btd]

It appears every 30 seconds within the event log.
Does anyone knows what this means and what is to do solve the problem ?

Seems to be a Problem with the Download Manager

Post by ingo »

I find out, that the warning within the event log has something to do with the download manager.
I tried to start the task using the startup script (/etc/init.d/btd.sh) and got the error:

*** glibc detected *** double free or corruption (!prev): 0x0001f220 ***

Also make sure SSH is enable and can reach your IP address with port 22.

Hi Kent,

thank you for the answer.

I use the latest Firmware Version 1.1.1. Currently an external access is not configured. Is there anything I can check on OS level ?

The process "btd" is the bt download daemon. So can you download BT successfully?
If the message was appeared every 30 sec, then I think it must have some problem in your system.
Please pm me your IP, admin password, and enable ssh login. I will check it for you!

I solved this issue by deleting all torrents. It seems that one torrent had a incorrect design.
Strange is that the error occures days after I had added the last torrent to my download list.

Yes I am using a UPS (Belkin Universal UPS 800VA). However I could not configure the NAT to communicate with the UPS.

I have reverted to NAS firmware 1.1.0, and there are no longer any warning messages. Of course, it could just be changing the firmware version removed some options in the settings?

Are there any plans on bringing out a new version of the firmware? I'm just concerned that I have brought the QNAP 209 and will be left with firmware that has issues...

I have the same warning Re-launch process [btd] since a few days in the event log. Each 30 seconds. Since then, the downloads are not working anymore.
I tried a lot of things: remove all downloads, restart the NAS, install new Firmware (1009). But no success.

If I run "/etc/init.d/btd.sh start" manually, I get:
*** glibc detected *** free(): invalid next size (normal): 0x0001e050 ***

Any hints?

Hi gweis,

The file /etc/config/downloadlist may be corrupted. You can follow the steps below to delete it and restart btd.

1. Telnet to NAS
2. Enter rm -rf /etc/config/downloadlist
3. Enter /etc/init.d/btd.sh restart

Hope this helps.

Hi, Q
We need more info to clarify if this is an issue.
Currently as I know if user to enable the UPS deamon but without connecting to a UPS, then it will show the warning message.

Cheers,
