Hello from Friesland (The Netherlands)

Post by hiker »

Hello There!

I bought two Qnap TS-109 Pro's for two reasons:

1) Office use: backing up laptop data and securely replicating office files between my wife's medical pratice location and our home.

2) Home use: centralizing multimedia content on my NAS (mainly movies) and streaming it to my iMac and AppleTV's.

I have setup the system today and so far I have the following points:

* I can't seem to find any client Netbak software for OSX on the CD-rom nor the Qnap website. Where can I find that?

* Is there a best practice for replicating between two locations?

* I have been able to stream a movies from the Qnap tot my iMac. This works pretty good. One movie however seems to gets "hick ups" every 10 seconds. So not completly fluent here. Should I use NFS to get better performance?

Overall things look promising!
