Yes, a Mailserver with POP3, IMAP, SMTP etc. was great!!
That's what I'm looking for!
I think this would be a killerfeature for the TS-x09Pro.

Yes, I was talking about a mail server with pop3 enabled, and smtp.

it will also be good to have a web access to the mail.

Thanks, and enjoy.

I also would like an integrated mail server and setup menus inside of the QNAP. The manual installation is too complicated for me (I am not good with command line tools :-)

I'm currently looking to replace an old server with a NAS. A mail server is pretty much the only thing lacking for the x09.

I would really like to see an smtp/pop3 mail server...

gmail provides possibilities to handle the mail of your domain. It also provides a spam filter and a huge mailbox of 6 GB at the moment. You can reach gmail via web/imap and pop

well yes, there is gmail as well as a number of other internet based mailservers providing ample free resources such as yahoo or even hotmail. But it's not as s e x y as having your own.. I too am a big fan of a built-in mailserver and having my own private email domain, also seems a little safer I suppose

I hear squirrelmail works well on the NSLU2 as in has a small footprint and ample features. Of course 'hacking' the box is a lot of fun but for dodo noobs like myself that's just a whole lot time which won't go unnoticed by the little woman. Maybe those diamonds weren't such a bad idea in this case :D

Hi Andy - is there a built in Mail Agent? I still can't manage to get a response from Qnap on what you are referring to...
