write access and several other things

Hello,

I've got some problems with the download station.
I am trying to automatically convert videos downloaded to qdownload

1)

I do not have write Access to my Qdownload Folder via SMB.
This i cannot rename any file.
How do i gain write access ?
Does someone know the root pw so i could possibly mount
qdownload as root, which seems to be the owner

2)
Opposing to mldonkey,
qdownload files are permantly downloaded to the qdownload folder.
Mldonkey downloads these files to temp
and commits them to another folder after they are completed.

So never know via smb,when these files are ready to be converted

3)
When downloading via QDownload,
my WAN connection is totaly overloaded.
I can hardly surf to any web adress, via my other client.
I tried to fiddle with the config options like max. updload, download,
nat access... but to no avail

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,
it would really be nice if someone could help me outta here.

I only paid 80 bucks more for the TS101,
than for the Linkstation,
because of QGET

And now I can hardly use it.

I am using the latest Stable Firmware (2.1?)

I already tried to chmod 777 the qdownload dir

1. Can you try this command and access the folder again?
Enter the command line by typing "cmd"
> net use * /d /y

2. You can see the downloads in the "Finished List" on both web-based Download Station or QGet sowtware.

3. You can set the "Maximum download rate (KB/s)" and "Maximum upload rate (KB/s)" via Web Download Station or QGet software. It should help for you to control your bandwidth usage.

Is there a corresponding option for mount -t cifs ?

I know, but that won't help me here ..
My script automatically runs over all files in the download path,
thus accessing files not already downloaded

I've already set all these options .. to now avail.
Anyway my wan is blocked, with download rates <= 13kb/s,
which is nothing for my 2.8mbit connection

I've never had these problem when using mldonkey.
But there you could always control the number of open files...

after fiddling for about 16 hours i've found no solution for
these problems.

great that i bought the qnap .. becuase i did not want
to fiddle around with linux any more ...

I have the same issue with security.
I found that if i access the nas from Gnone GUI, i have rights to the files.
But if i mount -t cifs, the files was read only.

I did as folowing to solved my issue.

I add my Linux/NAS account to owner of the files
chown -R "userID":administrators /share/Qdownload

I changed the UID of the "Userid" of the Linux PC to the same 500 uid as the user on NAS. Then it works.

I am newbie on linux, but i think when you mount with cifs you get the same issue as with NFS protocol, the UID must be the same.

I'm having the same problems

using the cmd as suggested i get

There are open files and/or incomplete directory searches pending on the connection to \\nas1\Qdownload.

Anyone know what I can do to correct this
