no mp3files on Noxon Audio2

Post by DieterN »

I have a TS-100 firmware 2.0.1 Build 0413, with a Maxtor 500GB and a Noxon audio2 (3.6.24.6369, latest firmware); on the harddrive I have ~ 90GB music/mp3;
as far as I understand the concept, thde built-in iTunes Server of TS-100 streams the music from the HDD to my noxon;
The reason for my question: my Noxon finds the TS-100 (called it medienserver) twice, but shows no files; sometimes it shows my 3 subfolders (music, videos, ..?)
I explicitly did not want to have a computer permanently running on my network "simply" for playing music
Am I completely wrong or is something in my configuration missing?
Kind regards from Austria
Dieter

Dear DieterN
iTunes Server on your TS-100 basically shares the music to your home network and the iTunes program on your PC can automatically find and play the music from your NAS.

For the UPnP/DLNA supported cliecnt, please enable the UPnP Media Server function. The Player should play the streamed contents from your NAS.

Dear QNAPIvan,
your replay is more or less the onscreen-description of the various otions. I tried them all, also all possible combinations (iTunes service enabled/dsiabled, UPnPServer enabled/disabled, a.s.o).
It id not change anything and I am rather displeased ..
I am on the edge to return that device, because it does not what I want to do it, and nobody seems to be able to support ...
nevertheless, thanks

Dear DieterN
There are some compability differences between and TS-100 and other TS series. The TS-100's UPnP media server is based on Gmedia opensource, and other TS (TS-101/201/109 series/209 series) are embedded with TwonkyMedia Server. http://www.qnap.com/images/products/com ... TS109.html

The compatibility of TS-100's UPnP media server with Noxon audio2 was not verified before. But Noxon audio2 is verified by both Twonky and some users who also discussed in the forum too.
http://www.twonkyvision.de/Products/Two ... vices.html

We need time to check this compatibility issue on TS-100, and appologize for the inconvenience. If to use it with a Noxon player is your major wished application, I will suggest you to swap it with your reseller.

Cheers,
