Is there still a bug with smbd on TS-419P+. Somehow the process takes arount 80-100% of the cpu power.
The webinterface is badly slow and on file moving from nas to desktop I receive on arount 10-30MB. In the past I had around 90MB.

Re: SMBd and high CPU load
Hi,
I turned off "System Connections Logs" and the cpuload went down with 60%.
System administration > System Logs -> System Connection Logs.
You can stop it totally if you want or go into options and just stop it for samba.

Did you get in touch with support about this issue? They should be able to help you figure out what's causing this.

Re: SMBd and high CPU load
As the CPU is the limiting factor for the bandwidth, dominated by smbd - plus some RAID and file system journalling - its pretty normal the CPU is used near to the max while accessing files.
As another posted mentioned already, logging each file access (to an audit trail) does add reasonable CPU load I.e. when accessing many files.

Re: SMBd and high CPU load
Hmm ok. But why I have now so slow transfer speed.
But I also understand that it is not that easy to resolve such problem, because of different configurations each user has.
I have to investigate the problem a little bit deeper.

Re: SMBd and high CPU load
Perhaps you can specify what changed?
Your original post implies that performace is 10-30MBps and in the past it was 90MBps.
What changed between the past and today?

Re: SMBd and high CPU load
What firmware version, what storage volume i.e. RAID configuration, ....?
Repeated writing or similar issues can also cause high CPU of smbd for example.
Ever had an eye in the NAS Kernel log while and after these relative slow mounts?
# dmesg
..
Last but not least - don't hesitate to contact QNAP Customer Service if it's not possible to identify and isolate the issue here.
Regards,
-Kurt.
